THE GRCV ANNUAL JUNIOR HANDLER AWARDS 2006 - 2007

There will be a Junior and a Senior Child Handler Awards available each year.

· The Junior Child Handler award is for children seven [7] years of age and under twelve [12] years of age.

· The Senior Child Handler award is for children who turn twelve [12] years of age during the Award Period and under seventeen [17] years of age.

Ø Point awarded in one section cannot be accrued to the other section.

Ø A child cannot win both the Junior and Senior Handlers Award in the same award year.

Ø If a child turns 12 years of age during the award year, they can choose to compete in the Senior Class at any time prior to their birthday and accrue points towards the Senior Award.

Ø Once a Child has chosen to compete in the Senior Class they cannot revert to the Junior Class at future fixtures.

Ø Once a child turns 17 years of age they can no longer compete in a Child Handlers Class, but they are still eligible to win the Annual Senior Handlers Award.

Points will be awarded at all GRCV Conformation fixtures, where Child Handler Classes are conducted, i.e. Members Competitions, Open Show/Parade and the club’s Championship Show/s.

Points will be awarded as follows:
· First in class – 3 points.
· Second in class – 2 points
· Third in class – 1 point.

If a non-member is placed in a class the points are still allocated as above with the member receiving the points of their actual placing. i.e. If a non-member is place second, the First Placegetter receives 3 points the Second Placegetter does not receive any points and the Third Placegetter receives 1 point.

To qualify for an annual Child Handler award:

1. The handler must comply with VCA regulations, where applicable.

2. The handler must be a GRCV member. (A Member in his or her own right, a Dual Member or part of a Family Membership.) These Regulations do not prevent Non-Members from competing in a GRCV Child Handler Class, but a Non–Member cannot acquire points towards the Annual Child Handler Awards.

3. The handler must handle a Golden Retriever in the Handler Class, to be awarded points.

4. A handler must compete in at least two [2] GRCV Child Handler Classes in the Award Period.

5. If at the end of the “Award Period” the highest scoring child in a section is ineligible, then the next highest scoring eligible competitor will be declared the Winner of the Award in that Section.

These GRCV regulations came into affect at the GRCV Members Competition to be held in April 2006, but will exclude the 2006 Championship Show, and conclude at the 2007 GRCV Championship Show.
 

 

JOHN & GRETTA TOMBS AWARDS 2006-2007
for the
TOP DOG & BITCH AT GRCV’S PARADE/OPEN SHOW & MEMBERS COMPETITIONS


The Club has agreed to again conduct two [2] awards for 2006 - 2007 to be known as the John & Gretta Tombs Awards for the Top Dog and Bitch to be competed for at the GRCV Parade/Open Show and all GRCV Members Competitions between 1 April 2006 and the 2007 Championship Show.

· The Top Dog award will be known as the “John Tombs Award”
· The Top Bitch award will be known as the “Gretta Tombs Award”

REGULATIONS
1. Points will be awarded at all GRCV Conformation fixtures except the Championship Show, i.e. all Members Competitions and the Open Show/Parade.

2. Points will be awarded as follows: first in class – 3 points; second in class – 2 points; third in class – 1 point. Best of Class receives 1 additional point.

3. No additional Points will be awarded for the winner of Best Dog and Bitch, Best Exhibit in Parade/Members Competition or Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Parade/Members Competition.

4. When multiple entries occur, only the points gained in the first class entered will count towards these awards.

5. These awards are open to all dogs owned by Members of the GRCV.

6. Only financial member of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria Inc are eligible to compete for these awards. In order to be able to amass points towards these Awards, the exhibitor must have paid their Membership prior to competing at the event. (i.e. The Exhibitor must have paid their Membership Subscription prior to the commencement of the judging at the event in which they are to accrue points and their Membership application will be submitted for approved at the next available Committee Meeting).

7. A dog to win either of these awards MUST compete in at least two [2] of the available fixtures.

These regulations will came into affect as of the first GRCV fixture to be held after the 1 April 2006 and conclude at the March 2007 Members Competition.

 

GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB OF VICTORIA INC
POINT SCORE 2006 – 2007
REGULATIONS

1. There will be an Annual Point Score Award System for Golden Retrievers commencing in June 2006 and concluding at the GRCV Championship Show in 2007.

2. Points for Point Score Awards can be won at the twelve [12] (one [1] per month) nominated Championship Shows plus the GRCV Championship Show.

3. Only financial member of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria Inc are eligible to compete for Point Score awards. In order to be able to amass points towards a Point Score Award at a nominated Show, the exhibitor must be a current financial member of the GRCV on the day that they competed at the event. (i.e. An exhibitor who is not a financial member of the GRCV, cannot compete at say four [4] shows, then join the GRCV and apply to have the points gained at the four [4] shows countered towards the Awards).

3.1 Where a registered kennel owns an exhibit, at least the active owner must be a member of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria Inc. to be eligible to compete for Point Score awards.

3.2 Where an exhibit is owned by two [2] or more separate exhibitors, all exhibitors in the ownership group must be members of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria Inc. in their own right, to be eligible to compete for Point Score awards.

4. It will be the responsibility of members to check their points each month and advise the Point Score Officer of any discrepancies.

5. The Golden Retriever Club of Victoria will offer a Trophy and/or Sash to each Point Score Winner at the end of the award period. The awards will be presented at the Club’s Presentation Night. These awards will not be presented at the GRCV’s Championship Show.

6. There will be a Point Score Award for the following:
6.1. Baby Puppy of the Year
6.2. Minor Puppy of the Year
6.3. Puppy of the Year
6.4. Junior of the Year
6.5. Intermediate of the Year
6.6. Australian Bred of the Year
6.7. Open of the Year
6.8. Top Point Score Dog of the Year
6.9. Top Point Score Bitch of the Year
6.10. Challenge Dog of the Year
6.11. Challenge Bitch of the Year


7. Points will be awarded as follows:

7.1. Baby Puppy of the Year. Five points for Baby Puppy of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing. Only points won at your three [3] best events will count towards the award. If a Baby Puppy, because of its Date of Birth, is only eligible to compete at less than three [3] events, then points won the previous year can be carried forwarded to the next year for this particular award.

7.2. Minor Puppy of the Year. Five points for Minor Puppy of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing. Only points won at your three [3] best events will count towards the award. If a Minor Puppy, because of its Date of Birth, is only eligible to compete at less than three [3] events, then points won the previous year can be carried forwarded to the next year for this particular award.

7.3. Puppy of the Year. Five points for Puppy of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing. Only points won at your three [3] best events will count towards the award. If a Puppy, because of its Date of Birth, is only eligible to compete at less than three [3] events, then points won the previous year can be carried forwarded to the next year for this particular award.

7.4. Junior of the Year. Five points for Junior of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing. Only points won at your five [5] best events will count towards the award. If a Junior, because of its Date of Birth, is only eligible to compete at less than five [5] events, then points won the previous year can be carried forwarded to the next year for this particular award.

7.5. Intermediate of the Year. Five points for Intermediate of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing. If an Intermediate, because of its Date of Birth, is only eligible to compete at less than five [5] events, then points won the previous year can be carried forwarded to the next year for this particular award.

7.6. Australian Bred of the year. Five points for Australian Bred of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing.

7.7. Open of the year. Five points for Open of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a first placing, two points for a second placing and one point for a third placing.


7.8. Top Point Score Dog of the Year. Points for this award can only be accumulated at the nominated Championship Shows, including the GRCV Championship Show. Five points for Best of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a Runner Up of Breed (maximum per event), two points for a Challenge award and one point for a Reserve Challenge award. Points won the previous year cannot be carried forwarded to the next year.

7.9. Top Point Score Bitch of the Year. Points for this award can only be accumulated at the nominated Championship Shows, including the GRCV Championship Show. Five points for Best of Breed, (maximum per event) three points for a Runner Up of Breed (maximum per event), two points for a Challenge award and one point for a Reserve Challenge award. Points won the previous year cannot be carried forwarded to the next year.

7.10. Challenge Dog of the Year. To be conducted through out the whole award period at all Championship Shows conducted in State of Victoria. The Winner of this award is the Dog that gains the most number of Best of Breed/Challenge points for the year. Members wishing to compete for this award must provide the Nominated Point Score Officer, each month, details of the Challenge Points won in the month on the prescribed GRCV approved form. If requested copies of their Best of Breed/Challenge Certificates are to be made available for sighting by Nominated Committee Members, before the final award in made.

7.11. Challenge Bitch of the Year. To be conducted through out the whole award period at all Championship Shows conducted in the State of Victoria. The Winner of this award is the Bitch that gains the most number of Best of Breed/Challenge points for the year. Members wishing to compete for this award must provide the Nominated Point Score Officer, each month, details of the Challenge Points won in the month on the prescribed GRCV approved form. If requested copies of their Best of Breed/Challenge Certificates are to be made available for sighting by Nominated Committee Members, before the final award in made.


8. The Nominated Point Score Clubs will be asked to acknowledge that it is a Golden Retriever Point Score Show both in their schedule and catalogue, and to provide a Catalogue to the Club on the day of the Show free of charge. If a nominated Club does not acknowledge in writing that they agree to these requests prior to the publishing of the April Club Newsletter, the Committee shall be authorised to select another Show in place of the original nominated Point Score Show for that month.

9. The twelve [12] nominated Shows will be published throughout the year in issues of the Club’s Newsletter and under no circumstances will this list be amended or altered through out the course of the award year.

10.4. Royal Melbourne Show – Showgrounds - 21 to 30 September 2006 Actual Date TBA.
10.5. Whittlesea Kennel Club– Showgrounds – Sunday 22 October 2006
10.6. Vic Gundog Club – Sunbury – Saturday 04 November 2006
10.7. Scottish Breeds Dog Club – Showgrounds – Saturday Evening 02 December 2006

NOTE: Due to Baby Puppies not allowed to be shown at the Royal Melbourne Show the GRCV Open Parade/Show (19 October 2006) or a Members Competition is to be the nominated show for Baby Puppies replacing the Royal Melbourne Show, whichever is the closest to the Royal.
