This Show is not just about winning or competitiveness but is about
uniting and sportsmanship. It’s about bringing together breeders and
owners and admirers of Golden Retrievers from all over Australasia.
Its’ not just about providing a venue, but an atmosphere, a learning
experience, and enjoyment.
|
| It’s about attracting the
general public and all persons interested in purebred Golden Retrievers.
We welcome all people with an interest in dogs and shows to attend our
"Carnival of Gold." And, as our theme and logo suggests, this
National event will be a festive occasion encouraging many participants.
Fun nights, a bush dance, a formal dinner and presentation night will top
off the daily activities. It will coincide with Melbourne’s Spring
Racing Carnival and the famous Melbourne Cup. |

|
|

|
Community members with a little or just a stirring curiosity about dogs
will be enticed to visit our show by the many and varied goods for sale by
local and interested traders.
Our Seminars will enable everyone to gain invaluable knowledge in the
health and care of dogs.
|
| The National 2000 will portray
to people the capabilities that the Golden Retriever was bred for. Apart
from the Goldens’ working ability, it is a very popular breed, making a
great family dog, with it’s biddable nature and desire to please. |

|
|

|
An International Judge, Mr Ray
Strudwick, from England, will judge the conformation ring. There are three
obedience trial Judges, and an opportunity for Junior Handlers to show
their skills. |
| We expect to attract over 500
entries with many Interstate and Victorian exhibitors staying in the
Cranbourne, Frankston areas as the show will run over three days. |

|
|

|
To commemorate the Golden
Retriever Club of Victoria’s first National Show, along with itemised
merchandise, a combined Yearbook and catalogue will be produced. It will
be a collector’s item as it is to be issued in a special year for a
special event. |
